Pep nodded" nah gal you can scoot outta here I know how it is when ya want to see ya, family"
Smiling she sipped her drink but then something felt wrong she caught a weird chill and was on her feet heading to the door as Tommie bust in looking dragged to hell and panting hard" Dey got J ..de cop came he tole me run Pep dey got him we need to go save him"
She growled and looked to aminita if it wasn't one freaking thing it was another."fuk a duck dat man gon give me grey hairs, Lemme call Del"
Scrubbing at her face because she hated having to do this and saw D blanch when she said it" Look I wont spoil ya surprise ok I jus need his help"
Dialling the number she had for him" come on come on please pick up"
Pacing because they couldn't just race out to go get to him. when he finally answered" Del I hate to do this but Jeadon got in a scuffle with some rogues and they was trying to chase them out of town when ya boys showed up and now they probably beating him to unconcious please help"

Del was hip deep in the twenty-third registered lycanthrope who’d come through town. It was a regular Christmas nightmare. Why didn’t any of these travelling know-it-alls realize NOLA still had varmint laws on the book. And while he did his best to mitigate the wrongness of them there was very little he could do when these jackasses were already outted and violating local laws. It was as if they were purposefully attempting to become martyrs for some cause. It didn’t help that his good deeds were being shoved back at him as if they were turd covered raisins.
So as the Boston Bear a mister Erian Fields touted the right of unhindered passage. Del rubbed the bridge of his nose. Counted to a hundred and exhaled. “Yes provided you are not a threat to the public at large. Are not a known felon and not pissing me off. Which you are three for three. So just so we are aware you are leaving this town. Be that in four years after spending time at the lycanthrope work camp or in twenty minutes on the next train out of here. Choice is yours for the next ten as it’ll take you ten minutes to get to the train station.” Standing up as his phone vibrated he left the interrogation room not bothering to excuse himself.
Smirking as he swiped open his phone, "Well if this don’t beat all…" He began before being cut off by Pepper. He looked at the call board. Nope none of his were working any case moving out further into the bullpen he motioned with his hand as he listened to pepper. Hasier finally caught on and pulled up the call board for the other units. He quickly dismissed several finally settling on the AGU who were on a raid in Marrero. Seems a nuisance complaint had been called in and they mounted a door kicking team as the perps fled. No further information was available from here so he exhaled. Long and loud.
It was a terrible ask the city was overrun with tourist so even vice was actually working for once. And the Parties showed no signs of stopping which meant nerves were on edge. There were three locations and one precinct house in Marrero where they take trouble makers make them disappear for awhile. Moving to his desk he slipped on his jacket. “Yeah that’s almost exactly whats happening for the next few days if I don’t find him in time. He in the Marrero area? If so meet me in Walkertown. It ain’t RPIT its AGU and you know how rough they play. So long as he doesn’t go furry they’ll just rough him up.” He didn’t say what he was thinking. Which was that the AGU had a very deadly sense of what roughing up some one meant. He didn’t want to scare her.
Calling over his shoulder he said, “Someone put that putz on the train. He act froggy make soup out of him.” As he left moving towards his car.

D shot to her feet as the man came in looking hurt and then hearing Del name she flinched. Watching them all she didn't know what else to do save get Tommie who she had got introduced to quickly a drink and help him clean his cuts up some. Hearing Del clear as day through the phone she gritted her teeth that was not good. They were the type of cops that enjoyed hurting folk her nan had told them to avoid ever getting in their way as kids.
Watching Aminita and Pep mount up she waved because aint no way she was going to run into Del with the pride it was almost like " hey so I'm here and I'm a lion and I'm hanging out with Pep" Not how she wanted to do this. Instead, she called her ride and waited for them to come so she could get dropped off at dels. feeling bad to leave them right now but wasn't nothing she could really do that wouldn't maybe make things worse.

Listening with her game face on Aminta was far more worried than the placid accepting look she wore. nOLA could be very violent and the police had adjusted to that fact a very longtime ago. Their line officers and uniformed rank and file often had the feel of SWAT. Their special teams such their CAT, AGU, ECTs all tended to act in the maxim of force wins the day.
And she knew more importantly that Jae was a fighter cut from a similar cloth. She dreaded that knowing the chances of death grew exponentially. He would very well hold on as long as he could but if itthe situation grew desperate he would decimate them and they would end him.
She dressed hurriedly an eye on the sun knowing full well that she Ben with whatever the rogues were triggering to hide themselves that Chidera would be on to them now. At least their actions. It was no secret that the Kiss has spies everywhere.
Nodding to D as she clearly was not of a mind to involve herself with the police as that meant dealing with her brother and spoiling her coming out to him she smiled hugged her as she and Pep went riding hopefully to the rescue and not a funeral.

Pep sighed and answered that she would be there and then hung up. Then looking to D" ok gal I understand you be safe ye hear?"
She didnt have to much time to worry over it but in a way she understood she was supposed to stay out of trouble riding to the rescue where there were probably cops was not that so she gave her a pass and also kissed her cheek as nita hugged her. Then out the door, they were. She couldn't stop her hands shaking enough to drive and just gave the SUV keys to Aminita. they had got the thing for the occasions when they had to bring a shifted member of the pride home or with the huge amount of groceries they purchased.
It also handled well on the sometimes boggy roads near the house, Knee going a mile a minute in the car Pep sent Jeadon her strength and calm to keep him in human shape long as he could. Breathing out and in focused on the feeling of him, she knew he was in a lot of pain and his light was shrinking and growing like a candle in a small breeze." hang on baby we coming stay with us"
She had grown to love the big lug and didn't want to do without him. They needed their third, and hell would come to those who took him away even if she had to bring it her self. In a moment of calm when they were close to their destination, she texted chidera" rogues came by the house we sainted two one went back took j on chase now cops involved need help if you can"

Del had spent half the drive over calling round favors of Nando and Ren. Both men had let themselves get caught up in the nightly revelry. It was hard not to he understood that. It didn’t change his frustration at them. They walked that side of the street and in his rather pissed mood it was their business to know. Especially with Pepper having informed him was started by rogue lycanthropes. That gave Nando a small bit of wiggle room but Ren it was his business to know. He and Chidera hadn’t spoken directly but he knew the hierarchy which meant Ren’s information was while not all at least part of Kisses network.
Striking out and doing his best to not pick a fight with his brothers he spent the other half dialing favors of his brothers in blue. He didn’t have any contacts on the AGU as when they overlapped it was a very bad situation and usually a blood and bullets night. Arriving in Walkertown he pulled over southbound on Ames. Ames being the main strip and as good a meeting point as any. As when anyone said Walkertown it’s what one thought of. It was of course like all of NOLA bigger than it seemed and still small enough strangers usually stood out.
Seeing the two ladies rumbling up the road in the SUV was a bit strange. As of late nearly every sight he caught of them had their bruiser with them. Jaedon was a strong guy he knocked on wood that he was strong enough to not give the good old boys of the AGU a reason to ratchet up their attention. Once they eased to a stop behind him. He stepped out and went to the car. “Bad news there are only two places he could be bad and worse. Both within a few short blocks. Both officially records holding facilities. So there can’t be any fireworks at all...” He said bracing them as best he could.

She typically rode her bike or took a cab when Jaedon wasn’t driving. As such safe as she was it felt weird being behind the wheel. His absence even temporary was felt. Locked right as he was she could still feel him indefinitely close and yet hidden. Peppers warmth flowing through her into the air filling the space with her presence and sense of home.
Far too many times strangers have tried taking from them. She was tired of it and even as it wasn’t directed at him she barely hid her growl of annoyance as Delaine spoke to them. He was helping them true enough but it was hard knowing he’d killed his fair share of lycanthropes in general and lions specifically. And being petty also knowing he and Pepper had played together. Which was weird as it wasn’t in her personal regard but on Jaedon. Who on the surface was okay with most things.
Looking from Pep to Delaine she swallowed, “okay lead the way we will take your lead just let us know he’s okay”

D was in the uber and told the driver where she was going and told him which route to take. He grinned and said"welcome back"
She smirked" Yeah I may look like a tourist but born and bred locally. You makin bank this week?"
He laughed and nodded, she knew he was probably taking longer routes or charging for peak hours due to demand. It took them less time to get to Dels with her direction and he leaned back" Don't mind the meter chere gimme half dat and take my card Ill come get ye if ye need. again welcom back"
She smiled gave him the requested amount but stuck him the rest in his tips. Blowing him a kiss and sliding out to go round the back. She sniffed and listened, no one close enough to matter. She hopped the fence easy enough and went to the spare key she knew was there chasing away the house spider that was living under the silver and black painted toadstool. She went in and quickly disarmed the keybad remembering he showed her the code last time she had come.
His house still smelled barely lived in which told her a lot. She sighed wasn't anything for it but going to the fridge least he had some ingredients in there this time. So she set to making a rue and chopping veggies soon enough an etouffee was going a pot of rice started. Popping the cap on a beer and going to make a bed up with fresh sheets.

“Yeah we need to speak bout that. You know he ain’t going to be truly okay. Even under the best circumstances. The AGU was bad back in the nineties with the things been happening roun here they only got worse. They the modern day version of union breakers and the old Texas Rangers. SO even their best behavior is pretty bad. Don’t react to nothin lest I make a fist. Otherwise the jig is up ya’ll might as well move from roun here if you make it outta this mess.” Went to show how bad they legally were that he half slipped back to his native self. Stress or drinking did it and he’d been relatively dry for awhile now as everybody got wilder and wilder nearer to Mardi gras they got.
He chose fist as that would keep their gaze mostly down and off the men they were here to see. Good old boys with badges and military experience. It was a known secret the only way on to the AGU was to have served. Or to beat three of their men unarmed back to back. That ground rule had the unit filled to the brim with hardchargers who had a died in the wool hard-on for kickass and not caring about names. It was why they were rarely called in and only twice in the last ten years allowed undefined rules of engagement.
He led them over a few streets then down an alley parking four doors down from the site. It would be a small hike designed to let them see the approach or things would already be on the wrong foot.

Pep listened nodding her understanding. She heard the growl and snuck a quick look to nita but then went back to Del and sighed" Ok you da boss in dis"
She would not finish the rest of what she was thinking but cops or not she would be making note of smells and general physicalities. Payback would be had but in the smartest of ways, they could be hard as they like but bones broke the same no matter how you looked at it. she also knew some people who could get close enough to get weaknesses and then use those.
So with that in mind she took a deep breath and blew it out preparing for the worse" Long he still breathing it will be ok, we can get him back to health how ever we got to but need him breathing"
Biting at her lip she was not particularly dressed for a fight in her dark wash cutoffs, faded green tank and blue sports bra. The black doc marten 30 holes laced up tight with scrunched men's socks. She pulled her hair back quick fast into a low braid then wrapped it tight in a bun so there was less to grab. Saying a prayer quick to the spirits that they would come out of this alright. Then just before they got out the car she sent another text to Chidera, "AGU has him we are going to try to get him back with Del but they probably near killed him. We need to talk later"
Then putting the alert volume on it to near silent knowing that humans wouldn't hear the phone if it went off but she still would.

Aminta was normally better at masking her emotions. She chided herself as a spare glance from Del as if he was measuring the surety of their, ie her word. She nodded adjusting her in pants holster by way of seeming to tuck her shirt as they stepped out of the vehicle to follow him. Her jacket made it completely invisible though she was sure Delaine knew she and most of the Pride carried heavy. Most due their occasional tours on guard duty at the docks. Others because she’d managed to forge credentials that would pass anything and everything but a targeted NSA investigation.
They didn’t come cheap but with a few favors owed they were easier to get for her than Superbowl tickets. So officially here in the now She was Ariadne Erastes a security contractor with top secret data clearance. Pepper had her juvenile record purged and was officially covered by a security consultants license. It was on the surface all on the up and up.
As they neared the ‘Records Facility” it was clear that here was where hope went to die. Squeezed in amongst the gunshacks, squats and bungalows was a building that summed up what destitute of hope meant. It was as nondescript as the color pale and twice as deadening it was as if the place was designed to suck the suck out of everything. It reminded her of the ‘Nothing’ from the book ‘The Neverending Story’. She closed her eyes inhaled deeply and looked to the sky taking what joy there was from the nearly cloudless blue sky and the bright yellow sun dancing along heedless to the pit of despair they were preparing to enter.
Looking to Pep she nodded and sighed not daring the so wanted touch in front of Del he despite his often-slow easy façade she knew was far smarter than he let on. She would not be Columbo’d by him.

Her rest was not restful this day it would seem and as she drifted out of her light dreamlike state a topor of sorts her phone vibrated with messages un read. Then as she came to full conscious the feeling of wrongness hit her. Sitting up quick with a head tilt. Reaching out she poked at the fabric that was Nola and its closest areas and like a map in her head lighting up she could touch and feel her lions and then it became clear that there were more. These showed as blurred but lion energy and they were retreating away from the area mostly.
On her feet she read her messages and snarled, fingers a flurry several contacts were reached to get them in place to try and provide support to Pepper and Aminita and Del. Sending him a message" Dear one I will do what I can to help be prepared" then dressing in a hurry but she could still not go out, two more hours before she could safely leave the convent unless she used the tunnels. A message to Pepper" I will do what I can to aid him and you and the stragglers will be handled"
Heading for one of the tunnels deep below the convent and trying to get to someone who could try to break the magic holding the rogues safe from harm. Tho if she just killed them quickly there would be nothing for magic to save. Headless was headless no matter who you were. Morte Noir was on a mission.

Stopping at the door as his phone vibrated. He paused quickly glancing at the message he squinted reading quickly eyes doing his best to not allow either of the lionesses to see. The message brought him a smile. He was not ashamed but he knew there were lines there that bound them all in a loose circle. Knowing there would be someone else who might miss him or thinking about him when he met his maker was a warming thought.
Sparing a few seconds he sent back a response. ‘Thank you, your thoughts are more than enough.’ He was downplaying it, but he really didn’t want to involve the Kiss. It would definitely end in a few missing officers over the next few weeks. He knew his lady love was dangerous smart and tactical. It was a sure bet that while no one would be able to prove it that Chidera would insure the errors of their ways would haunt them.
Not to mention the Pride was while quiet their own thing. They were one of the most put together of clans. They also like the wide with and breath of the lycanthropes had more members in the furry closet than anyone would ever know. Meaning that it was a very real thing that the members who either of the ladies could mark would at the very least be victim to a rash of beatings. All in all the last thing he really wanted was for the actions of these yahoos to cause a war between the preternatural community and the police. Looking to Pepper as he slipped his phone away and asked once ore for terms.
"If we can get him out of this you all won’t retaliate right?"

Pepper glanced at her phone and sighed calmly. Good chidera would handle things. Trying to hold composed as they paused once more Del looked at her and his question, caught her funny.
She gave him a deeply personal look, head tilting." We way past fibbing to each other Del, I am going to be angry and will do my best to not show that when we go in there. Past that don't ask me to lie to you"
Breaking eye contact he could do what he felt was right, but she wouldn't disrespect either of their intelligence with that.

Aminta tried to not laugh at Del for his attempt though none too subtle he was asking them to not start what he knew this would. Cops in Nola were who they were because of who the denizens of the city were. The Police were a direct opposite to the population. They were violent hard and knew that if or in this case when they lost it was on them. Sometimes just because you could bite didn’t mean you could chew. And even if you could chew didn’t mean your meal would let you swallow. As sure as they were standing here if they made it out of here without having drawn down the AGU was as good as cooked. The first thing she would do after getting Jae home and secure would be to dive bomb their security. Names, home addresses, haunts, and most likely replacements. While she would have her pound of flesh she wouldn’t put the city at risk. Well at least not so long as Gates and Chidera were in power.
As they shaed their moment Aminta chimed up. “We’ll at least keep it as small as they let us." Her time could have been better but she wouldn’t downplay the fact that this was a blood debt even if they managed to get Jaedon out of this alive.
