Gates came into NightHawks from the tunels that led to it. The tunnel he chose emptied out into the men's restroom. The other would have placed him fifty feet further away in the rear of the building. He had not spent anytime within the building in sometime. As it stood he even now felt the ghosts long past standing before the mirror he closed his eyes allowing those times to roll over him. Chidera would be checking in soon with the happenings she'd seen to. So he allowed himself this moment of nostalgia.

The city was certainly beautiful. Katerina sauntered down the cement towards a building she had been told was a vampire bar. Tonight, she was dressed in faux goth: from top to bottom. The boots were slim and black leather, coming to her knees but not preventing her from bending them, with a stiletto heel. Her bare legs were especially white in contrast until the view was interrupted (just barely) by a black, pleated skirt. The top was a thick material colored crimson and, as was one of her trademarks, was so tight even with ample cleavage a bra was unnecessary. It laced up the back, giving her body more curve and holding her breasts in place without any help. A long-sleeved, cropped black jacket went over the top. Her shoulder-length blonde hair had purple and blue streaks in it and the layers around her face were fanned out to leave her featured open for the eye to see. No foundation was necessary with her naturally pale complexion, which had only become paler in death (undeath) and the eye makeup was dark, making her already bright eyes glow without any power usage. Her lips were painted the same crimson as her top.
The small female vampire dismissed the line of humans at the clubs entrance and continued right on by them, going directly to the bouncer, who let her in with barely a second look. His power breathed over her skin and she grinned, lipsticked mouth showing pearly white teeth... and fangs.
Yes, this was definitely where she wanted to be.
Once inside, she laid a fifty on the bar to cover whatever charge she might have for being there and flashed the bartender a sly wink. She never faltered, but headed directly to the dance floor, hoping to find someone there who she might be able to get some information from. She was quite willing to do just about anything to come by this information...
Just about anything.
The power of the music quickly took Katerina over and she swayed and and moved, quickly making herself part of the pulsing rhythm, part of the whole of the dance floor. She wound her way between bodies, always swaying, always dancing, until she found a girl as entranced by the music. She slipped in close and matched her body's rhythm to the girl's, letting the music carry her away. Before long, it seemed they were one flesh, one mind, undulating to the pounding of the music, close like lovers. The music called, and they answered.

Him being in darkness meant that the supernaturals would be out. meaning that hopefully he would get at least some information. either that or he could find out that his goose was cooked.
He walked passed the bar and her crenglish (Creole english), His blood ran cold. Any place that spoke Creole, French or patois meant that he had to keep moving. Bury his name and his contacts. Otherwise he could bring about a lot of things that he was not ready to face to him. He thought of a name that he could use just in case someone asked.
He sat at the bar and ordered a jack and coke. his thoughts trying to figure out what his purpose was, and why this place out of all the other places in the world.

Katerina was quite enjoying herself, listening in and trying to gain information (and failing) when the music changed. Sighing in defeat at the faster, bouncy beat, she slowly made her way from the dance floor. She couldn't help but notice that quite a few people were following her example. The song must have been a request or something.
She slid onto a stool next to a handsome breather with dark skin and looked up through her lashes at him. He was obviously deep in thought, and she grinned at the challenge presented.
"Who is she?" She asked, smiling brightly, teasingly, to show she meant no harm. She had her back to the bar and was facing the dance floor, her elbows propped up on the bar behind her, her body leaned in the direction of her new companion. Maybe acquaintance would be a better word. "She must be something special by the intense look on your face." She was baiting the male. It probably wasn't smart, but living for over 4 centuries could make someone arrogant. The stools were close enough that her left arm was a nice solid presence against his.
Katerina closed her eyes and opened herself, trying to get a read on the being sitting next to her. All she was sure of so far was that he wasn't entirely human.

Gates surreptitiously entered Nighthawks via the employees entrance. He and Antoinette had been back in New Orleans for the last two nights. The warm haze of their fellowship cemented in Dallas he was still well within the glow of such a happy time. He scanned the crowd picking out the flares of emotion that washed over them. He was loathe to be so far from Antoinette but he was ever the progeny of his maker and chose to lay eyes on his city from the quiet of anonymity.
His dangerous curiosity reared its head as he caught whiff of an unexpected emotional soup. Its emanations even more a cause for investigation. He had reached out to Sabine to use her nest as his silent unseen black hand. That as of yet had never been utilized yet here stood a very powerful snake. Oner whom judging by the consternation flowing off him was new to the city and obviously unannounced.
Tearing his attention away from the snake for now Gates looked over his companion. A new vampiress. She was a new development. As he had not heard any news of her arrival from his Temoin he knew that she as well was an unannounced arrival. Interesting he thought as he slid onto a stool a t the end of the bar. He allowed his aura to slowly float through the place Filling the room with his presence. He had not intended to reveal himself just yet, but two unannounced fairly dangerous beings demanded his attentions. TA the very least they could use a right proper greeting as far as the city was concerned. While the snake was technically outside his purview he was sure that Sabine would not mind...

Sabin smelled the fragrance that the woman who was living impaired used to mask the smell of undying flesh as she sat next to him. “She asked who was she? Right now there was so many things that was out of order in his life. Like why was he there. Where was here exactly.
“She, right now, she was killed. However the strange thing is I have no idea where in the world I am, and no I am not drunk. Of course one thing I would love to know is where am I and who do I have the pleasure of speaking with.”
Sabin withdrew from his thoughts for the briefest of moments to the here and now. He would have to be on guard against any and everyone lest word gets back to Paul that he is no longer in Chicago but is here where here is. Sabin hoped against hope that he was in the U.S and not the Caribbean.
He allowed his gaze to float over her form in between drinks, nope more than likely not the Caribbean, to that a toast was deserved.

Surprised at the words coming from Sabin, Katerina opened her mouth to answer...
Only to feel a breath of power against her back, cool and sweet. Someone powerful was making his presence known... and he wasn't altogether happy. Rather then dig herself into a hole she couldn't get out of, she slipped off the stool, laying a cold hand on Sabin's arm. "I believe we are being summoned." She said quietly to him, and then turned to go through the crowds, hoping that he was either following her, or that she would in the very least have the chance to meet him again. It seemed a pity to make the acquaintance of such a character without getting to know him... at least a little...
The vampire who owned the power was sitting at the end of the bar and Katerina took a moment to study him, taking her time approaching an unknown supe. He was certainly handsome enough, though from his posture, it appeared his mind was rather firmly on business. She stopped close enough to be heard in the din, trying at the same time not to crowd this vampire who made her undead skin crawl with waves of power. A small space seemed to have cleared around him, obviously an unconscious thing on the most part. Their instincts must have come online or something.
She nodded deeply to him, unsure of how formally she should introduce herself here in this public place. "Pleased to meet you." She said, venturing a half step closer and trying to decide if he would be insulted if she offered her wrist instead of her neck in this crowded venue. "I am Katerina" She said, and waited for some clue as to how she should go about this.

Gates watched as the Snake and the vampiress caught scent of him. As the young vampiress made her way over he watched without much concealment. He thought over which tact to take and gave up any semblance of pretense all within the span of a human breathe. Turning his stool so as to face her directly Gates nudged at her shields a bit. he restrained any force merely testing them as one would a sturdy wall. It would be enough of a warning against disseminations he hoped.
Looking her over Gates decided on a plain spoken direct query versus any sort of romanticized or drawn out interview.
"And I am Gates Master to the Crescent City what brings you without missive?"

Sabin felt the slight nudge from the female vampire. Then he felt cool as the smell of undead power hung heavy in the room. It was as if an uber master had came and let all of their shields down.
He followed the woman to the other side of the room not sure what to expect.
He listened to “Gates” as he recited his name rank and clan which to the preternatural community it was akin to serial number. This was to be a formal sitting, that was fine at least now Sabin knew where he was, the Crescent City, also known as The Big Easy, it made sense he was in New Orleans. That is fine and dandy at least for now. He feared he was in Port Au Prince, that would have been tragic.
Since Sabin was not a Vampire, he thought it best to allow this little dominance game play out with him only being a bit player, a sidebar to this contest, he would wait to be spoken to due to as far as he knew the only person he had to say anything to would be the cities Kashyapa or Kadra and being at though “Gates” had not declared himself as such, he was not technically able to give Sabin a stern talking to.

Power was a living, breathing thing. It seemed to need nothing to sustain it (not true at all) though, and through the waves of vamp mojo, she could just feel Sabin at her back, and was grateful. It wasn't that they were fast friends... or even technically acquaintances yet since they hadn't gotten to introduce themselves. But having someone with whom she had spoken, someone who seemed to at least not dislike her, near as she introduced herself to the Master of the City, was a strange but real comfort.
"I am Katerina." The petite vampire ventured closer and offered her neck to him by way of greeting. Public venue or not, anything less would be a horrendous insult to the Master of the City. She did it in a careful manner that would not alert those around them there was anything going on... unless, of course, he chose to rip her throat out. That might cause a little bit of commotion.
Softly, she spoke while waiting to have the greeting returned. "I have recently left Boston and am down here to petition to join your kiss, Master Gates." An even tone belied no emotion whatsoever.
Vaguely, Katerina wondered if Gates would punish her in some way for entering his territory without permission. It would be his right, and the female vampire would take her punishment as it was dealt. She also couldn't help but hope to speak to the strange lycan who watched the interaction so casually. Would he even care if she died at this moment? Likely not. Through all these thoughts, her face remained impassive.

Gates watched impassively as Katerina offered her neck. Her explanation for her transgression was nonexistent. He couldn't help but inwardly laugh. She was far braver than a rogue vampire had right to be. Her motions while unseen by most of th bar patrons was outright brazen to Gates. Her well contained emotional innards provided Gates with a bit of insight as to whom she truly was.
As she grew close Gates pulled he into an embrace laying his lips against the artery that lay just below the soft skin f her throat. He whispered at an octave that only she could hear. "Welcome Katerina. We will talk later as to your oath."
Fixing the lycanthrope with a quizzical look Gates raise his voice so that it carried to the snakes ears.
"And whom might you be and what brings you within?"

Sabin stood stock still as the words of “Gates” came to him. he wanted to lie with ever fiber of his being he wished to lie, an yet as he opened his mouth his words rang with the truth that he so wished to hide.
“My name is Sabin, from Chicago, call me Sam henceforth please. If I can please use the name Sam for to use my true name could become problematic.”
Sabin was for the first time in a long time afraid. He knew that using the name Sabin could cause a litany of problems, yet he could not lie. While he did it easily enough normally he just could not bring himself to do so now.
He looked to the two vampires not sure what to do next he could just sit down away from them because neither has any hold over him, but at the same time he wondered what would happen to the woman and himself next.

The petite vampire couldn't even find it in herself to be scared. It wasn't that she didn't understand the facts, she just wasn't worried about pain or dying, because she could sustain pain, and she was pretty sure this Master would not kill her. It would be a pointless venture, after all. Surely he'd take the time to glean information from her first. Not that she really had all that much. Hmm...
She went to him easily enough, settling close without actually snuggling into the cold body close to hers. Still, when his lips brushed that so very sensitive place on her neck, she couldn't help but shiver slightly and press her body a little closer. It was automatic, and she couldn't imagine he'd take offense to it. At least, she hoped not. Once his attention shifted from her, Katerina stayed passive in his arms, completely comfortable with waiting to see when he would decide to let her go.
This was not an automatic thing, but something she had trained herself to do. She'd been forced into many a bed she didn't want to be in, and she'd learned to just do as she was told in these situations with an impassive face. It was the limit of her acting skills. She simply couldn't pretend to enjoy herself there if she wasn't up to it. So, though she never made any attempt to move away from the Master of the City, she also made no move to be closer, and her hands stayed absolutely still where they had rested on his body. She may well have been a statue at his side, only her eyes moving from one person to another.
The man before introduced himself as Sabin, and she watched him closely, wondering why he wanted to go by a different name. She still wasn't absolutely certain what he was, but it was obvious he was something special. When he'd finished speaking, she inclined her head at him with a gentle smile.
"Nice to meet you, Sam." She said softly, falling right into the use of his nickname. "I'm delighted to consider you my acquaintance."

Gates felt the stillness creep over Katerina's limbs. It was a quietude born of intense willpower versus that of age. He released her almost immediately. He being so in tune with the ebb and flow of emotion he could feel its minutest change. Katerina like all vampires of any age held her emotions with a firm hand. However what was visible around the edges of her will was far more than Gates had expected.
Sabin was another matter entirely. He was visibly afraid of his own name and whatever might come of it. It was a shame sadly Gate could count himself in a similar boat. His reasons aside what counted most was that both he and Sabin were known by names other than what was theirs by birth.
A frown passed over his face as he considered what steps to take. As Master of e City it was loosely within his purview whether to send Sabin packing. He stood allowing his thoughts to play behind his eyes.
"Sam? Well I can't offer you the protection of the Kiss but you may find solace with the local nest. And until you find them you may stay. Where do you hail from?"

Sabin wondered, he wanted to figure out why this “Gates” felt that while he was confident that Sabin had a past, and yet willing to allow his city to be laid bare while he inhabited the city. It was good that Gates was fine with it, even better that he mentioned that a nest was in the city. Sabin had known whole regions of countries that not a snake was to be found let alone a nest.
“Thank you Gates. I am from Chicago, you mentioned a Nest?”
That would be great if he knew where the nest was, that way Sabin could drop by and pay his respects.
"I would be remiss if I did not pay my respects. Is the house ran by a male or madam?”
He needed to know if the house had a Kadra or a Kashyapa. It would effect his whole approach as to how to speak and conduct himself. A male would think that someone of Sabin’s strength came to town a Kashyapa would immediately assume a challenge or try to goad Sabin into a dominance or submissive role which would be a waste of Sabin’s time especially since he himself is a Kashyapa of a major city. A Kadra may be willing to talk before jumping the gun.
“So Katrina are you passing through like I am or are you planning to stay”
Sabin wanted to bring to spotlight back to Katrina since she was also here and perhaps waiting to stay.

A little surprised to find herself released, Katerina took a few negligible steps backwards until she was outside of any personal space and watched the conversation quietly.
Master Gates followed up her introduction to 'Sam' with answers.
"Sam? Well I can't offer you the protection of the Kiss but you may find solace with the local nest. And until you find them you may stay. Where do you hail from?"
Her eyes flickered to Sabin's to hear him answer.
“Thank you Gates. I am from Chicago, you mentioned a Nest? I would be remiss if I did not pay my respects. Is the house ran by a male or madam?”
Rather then wait for the master vampire's answer, Sabin turned dark, penetrating eyes to her. “So Katrina are you passing through like I am or are you planning to stay?”
"That would depend on my welcome." She said ambiguously, trying not to be presumptuous or demanding. She was being careful, because now was not the time to be stepping on anyone's toes. "I'm a little depressed to hear you will not be staying long, Sam." She smiled at the darker man and then turned to the master vampire next to her, wondering if she would be invited to their daytime retreat or if she should make other accommodations for the daybreak.

Gates took a moment taking in the full measure of Sabin and Katerina. They could prove interesting. It was obvious that Sabin was running from someone or something. He much like Lucifer might have many ghosts rattling their chains in the city. Gates looked at the pair they wold make. Clearing his head of such dark fantasies he knew he had to do what he could to make Sabin's stay as uneventful as possible.
He didn't know what he could do. He did not overlook the detail of his arrival from Chicago. His arrival so soon after Esme's departure spoke ill of whatever it was that Andrius was playing at. For now he would play the fool the better to perhaps stand a chance against the ancient devil.
"Depending on the welcome my dear. Well if that be all that keeps such a bright personality dimmed, then know that you are most welcome. There are of course many ways to impress upon you the virtues of our hospitality. For now suffice it to say be welcomed."
Looking towards the bartender Gates flashed a nod alerting them that Sabin and Katerina's monies were no good for the remainder of the evening. They were to be catered to. It also meant that the passel of blood freaks that were salivating over becoming someones snack for the evening.
"As for the whereabouts of the Nest, it would be a betrayal of trust for me to point you in the direction of their residence. I would however make a meeting at some neutral location if you wish. Sam." Standing Gates offered his hand in peace to Sabin. With his other he offered to Katerina. It was as much as he would do even here in this vamp-friendly place...

“That would be most appreciated Gates. I should show my respect which is what I would expect if any were to come to my city.”
Sabin took Gates and gave it a firm shake. He looked at Katarina as they concluded there business. I cannot say much about the city thought Sabin but vampires seemed so much nicer that Chicago. Where the master seemed so aloof and cold, He figured he may try once again to see if they were anything but the cold poser that they showed the world.
Sabin looked his acquaintance and wondered if she had a room in the hotel that he awoke in or if she had other arrangements all ready in place at a different one. It wasn’t like Sabin to let a person suffer, even with her being an undead who had no ties to him, however he would be no person’s nightly snack. Of course he was just as content to watch this scene play out.
