Gates sat finally satiated in his office. He was troubled by the situation with the northern aggressor and the recent spate of drug related deaths. The deaths were troubling because the coroners report indicated the presence of vampiric blood in the decedents system. That alone wouldn’t be troubling as it was a small matter to prepare for a new addition to the Kiss. The troubling aspect was there were no requests to create a childer. There were no rogues in the area and the Church of Eternal Life had no initiates anywhere near being ready to take the embrace.
That meant that something else was afoot. He had kept his influence within the police limited as a way to check his own power and that of the Kiss it seemed as if that check was a luxury he could no longer afford. Between the Felicite Penibles use of depleted uranium shells to this new drug Gates was of a mind to clean the board. They’d lost two members and three were missing. He could feel their flames flicker yet they remained hidden from him. They did not come as bidden and it angered him on a level he was unprepared to deal with at the moment.
Making a mental note to deal with the missing vampires and those responsible in due time Gates reached along the line between himself and Raven. She strolled quarter regularly. She should have news of the nightly happenings. Calling his Temoin he settled into the office chair composing his missive to the Felicite Penibles leader. He was sure she would be along shortly.

Raven stood silently in the shadows of one of the many buildings in the area. She was watching the crowd of humans walk past her not knowing she was there. All they knew or felt was a great sense of fear every time they walked past. It was amusing to watch the cattle like creatures break into a sweat or near wet themselves in her presence. She didn't get to stand there for as long as she would have liked. The link formed between her and gates opened to the point where he was able to call her. She knew without asking where he was just like she also knew what he was wanting her for. With a small sigh she slipped from the shadows scaring a few humans in the process and slid back out of sight.
It took her only moments to reach the convent. Going through a set of doors Raven immediately headed for the office where she knew he was waiting. Sliding her hands through her hair to make sure it was in place she walked through the set of double doors that lead into Gates office.
She was glad to see him as always letting it show in her body language. Raven glided up to his desk knowing his eyes were on her and she fell into a curtsy. She knew there was no reason for her to have to do so but sometimes certain habits of old came back at odd times. Raising herself she slid into a chair opposite him and waited for him to speak.

As Raven approached Gates closed the laptop. It’s metal on metal case clicked closed with the finality he hoped would hold true in the city’s defense against the predations of the Felicite Penible. He did not wish to escalate things but he would. I he was being honest with himself there was a part of him that wished to engage the group and their leader in a more direct manner. He had both Raven and Chidera as well as a few well placed others and Chicago while strong was not unassailable. Pushing those thoughts out of his conscious mind. He turned in his chair so as to fix Raven with the weight of his gaze. He was happy to see she was busying herself finding pleasure where she could.
“You are aware of how the Felicite Penible is being handled. We may have another issue. I would like you to take a look into. Sliding the official coroner’s report across the desk he sat back in the chair absorbing the warmth of her. She was blossoming nicely he had huge hopes for her and the city. This time they would not be broken. This time they would remain resolutely whole, hale and hearty. Without meaning to his thoughts swam back to Constance, Lucifer and yes even Antoinette. Their passing were some of the many he would never let loose of.
“Raven I occasionally forget to insure you and Chidera are aware of how much you all mean to me. If it should ever escape me know that I cherish your strengths.”

As Gates began speaking Raven listened intently. Her head nodded in the affirmative when he mentioned the snakes trying to invade and take over from outside of the city. Hell she was pretty sure the entire community knew, it wasn't like it was a well kept secret. Her eyes landed on the folder he slid over to her and she wondered just what was in it.
Taking the file off the desk the vampire flipped it open and as she read through the report her jaw almost dropped open. Her eyes met his across the space and she knew he wasn't joking with her. Every file contained within the folder had the same evidence. People were injecting vampire blood into their veins. Any vampire she knew would never give or sell their blood freely which given what she had just read could only mean one thing. At least some of the missing vampires were being squeezed of their life's blood and it was being sold on the market to anybody that was willing to pay the price.
Raven opened her mouth to speak and then closed it just as fast. She honestly wasn't sure what to say. Finally she was able to put forth some of the thoughts racing through her head. "Well now we know what is going on with the superhuman feats being accomplished by mere humans. What exactly do you want me to do?" She would gladly kill the bastards doing this evil, vile inhuman act.
Raven stopped her thoughts from turning to dark and smiled at Gates. "I would think it would be obvious that you do. But it is nice to know all the same. Thank you." Setting the file back on the desk she leaned back in her chair as well. She still had some news to mention but until she knew what was needed of her it could wait.

Gates nodded his ascent as his mouth caught up to his thoughts. "That is a good question. I would like you to take point on dealing with this. I will handle making inroads with the police and providing you information. I think this would be a great time for you and Chidera to combine duties and suss this out. We need public spectacle both legally and otherwise. The perpetrators must be made an example of." Terms set he moved onto other topics. “You’ve settled nicely it seems have you claimed some venture as yours? As you are the Temoin you must have some locale that is solely under your purview.”
Gates had meant to speak with her in regards to a pursuit that would bolster her public visibility. As Temoin she needed to be the person most would think to go to first. She needed to be the gatekeeper. She was the golden road that led to him. He would work towards establishing layers upon layers so as to build a naturally doubly redundant insulation for the Kiss. It would require a certain few more maneuvers as well as an empowered Council of Lycanthropes to assist in strengthening the city as a whole.
Leaning back into the chair he sat thinking on Christians sooner or later it would have to be dealt with.

Smiling even bigger she nodded rather happily. It would be nice to get to know Chidera better especially when she knew that the two of them were his right and left hand. It would do a lot of good to make sure the two of them could work together, but that would come later. For now she kept her mind on the present and what was being said. "We both know what will happen when whoever is at the bottom of this gets caught. But even after we catch them it will take months if not longer to get it off the street. It will be even worse if it spreads across cities and it wouldn't surprise me if it has already." Frowning in frustration at the thought Raven dug her nails into her palms a little more then necessary.
Forcing herself to relax she took a few deep breathes even though she didn't need them it still helped sometimes. Blinking to clear what was left she stood up and walked around to his side of the desk and propped herself on the corner. Looking at Gates she spoke with a much more relaxed tone. "Actually I set myself up at Nighthawks, I like the place and its well known so now I just have to wait for word to get around."
Raven had been admiring Gates for a while now and she knew from the way he reacted on occasion that he thought so same but it had been some time since last they had any amount of time with no one else around. Deciding to let him know for sure what she wanted she opened the link between them and slid closer along the edge of the desk. Using a small amount of strength she pushed his chair back just enough so she could slide in front of him.
She wasn't going to push for anything between them nor was she going to get upset if he chose not to let anything happen. But as he now knew what she thought she wait to see what he did or said.

Gates enjoyed her smile. It was nice to see Raven becoming more at home. He often thought of her as she made her way about the city seeking whatever she sought. It was interesting that she had chosen the name Raven for herself and had defeated many vampires to maintain her possession of it. Her instincts were sound and despite her image aside she was as wily as she was practical. "We do know how bad this can be and probably is. We are merely going to control the narrative. We will have the tale be the wrath of the Maitres de Sang is more than even the underworld can stand." Gates smirked as she made her intentions known. He was of a similar mind in regards to her and Chidera.
Gates took her opening of the door as invitation that it was. Flashing a smile he moved faster than was humanly possible his body going to shadowy mists. Reappearing a millionth of a second later astride her bodily easing her to the desktop. His left hand holding her chin. His lips at crux of her chin and neck. He used enough pressure to assert that he was in fact accepting her invitation and was lax enough that with but the thought of a push she would be free. "That I know now."
He made his way along her jawline sampling the taste of her giving as much pleasure as he felt by throwing wide the line between them. She would know his pleasure in her touch and he the pleasure in hers. Holding himself aloft with his right he made his way down her down the line of her neck to her collar bone. Resting there a second he looked to her eyes easing his hand away. She tossed the gauntlet he would run it at his pace but he would offer her retreat if she chose. No harm done no foul pressed it would be a moment gone and nothing more.

Raven found herself with her back pressed against the top of his desk and Gates on top of her. She hadn't been entirely sure what to expect his reaction to her advanced would be but this exceeded her expectations. Her eyes stared up at the ceiling and she kept her jaw still under his fingers. She brought her hands up digging her nails into his shoulders through his clothing gasping a little at the sensations flooding her. She felt his lips move down her neck to her collarbone but he stopped there and she growled in the back of her throat "don't stop, please."
Raven looked down into the eyes of the vampire resting atop her and she smiled, she just couldn't help it. It had been so long since she had been with another vampire but knowing it was him was just...exciting. Her nails scraped a path from his shoulders up his neck and onto his scalp and the short hair he kept there. It was hard to ignore the tingling like zing that raced through her own body knowing it had originated in his. She shifted under his lips trying to urge him to go further hoping he would take the hint.

Knowing the fight had won Gates the day more times than there were grains of sand on a beach and so he was always aware evaluating. He was always watching for that shadowed blade yet here was a raven haired beauty willing to partake in what he had to offer. Her urging was the only barb he needed. Leaning away from her for a moment he admired her taking in the sight of her as if he could feast through those orbs of his. He was born before the modern gift wrap industry and found nothing was more enrapturing than taking the sight of the present an she was that a present unexpected and appreciated.
It was interesting considering Raven lover but in the moment she was. Seeing the unblemished span of her was enrapturing. He applied a steady needful adoration to her. As he applied a careful lusting attention to her he found his hands stealing their own pleasure, he lavished her. Her words urging spurring him on. He kissed and suckled making his way across the landscape of her claiming this moment for this moments sake.
As he was lavishing her his hands the creeping thieves of his pleasure made their way across her body. Resting and kneading her as he did his abject best to bring her with his tongue and lips. He realized this moment was long in the coming and slowed his attentions to match the buildup thus far.
